Dance and Art for ages 7+. 1:00p-3:00p
JAMAICA, POSTCARDS FROM TIP June 24 - 27 While learning the various rhythms and drums of the Jamaican, Creole, and African cultures, your young dancers will dance the Wake Stick, the Limbo, and the colorful weave of the Maypole.
In Arts Encounter, your young dancers will explore a different story ballet each week culminating in a Thursday family performance.
The children will use improvisation, basic movement concepts, folk dance, and classical ballet to recreate the story ballets. Your children will design and construct costumes, props, and scenery to enhance their production.
At snack time, we'll explore a different culture and era while trying foods from around the world.
Your young dancers will meet for 2 classes daily (dance and art), for 4 consecutive days, to explore, through dance, art, music, and foods from around the world - a different theme each week.
