Foodways 3 - Chocolate: Morning, Noon and Night
Over 50% of Americans prefer chocolate over all other flavors. What makes it so special? Come and explore the history, unique chemical composition, and sensory experience of chocolate. Taste it in its various forms then see how chocolate's natural bitterness pairs with other flavors to make it a perfect ingredient in some unexpected places.
Recipes made and shared will include: - Creamy Chocolate Breakfast Pudding. Take home a jar for breakfast the next day! - Spinach and Strawberry Salad with Chocolate Vinaigrette. - Cincinnati 5-way Chili. - Chocolate covered . . . (You'll have to wait and see).
We will also sample flights of chocolate, discuss their flavor profiles and explore how chocolate interacts with our senses of taste and smell. Bring your sense of adventure and your chocolate taste buds!
The event will take place at The Hill Center at the Old Naval Hospital, which is only 1 block from the Eastern Market Metro station. The cooking instructor will be Ms. Laura Schultz. http://www.abundantwellnesscoaching.com/
