MY DAD IS BARYSHNIKOV, co-presented by the San Francisco Jewish Film Festival (SFJFF Kids)
About My Dad is Baryshnikov: The humorous tale of scrawny 14-year-old Boris Fishkin who, while studying dance at the Bolshoi Ballet Academy, convinces his classmates that he is the illegitimate son of Mikhail Baryshnikov by imitating the great dancer's best moves from a banned VHS tape. A semi-autobiographical film and endearing crowd-pleaser: Billy Elliot meets Goodbye Lenin!.
About SFJFF Kids: Following the success of children's programming at the 33rd San Francisco Jewish Film Festival that included day time screenings of "American Tail," "Annie," and "The Producers," SFJFF is excited to announce a new monthly series of family friendly films for the young and the young at heart. SFJFF Kids will screen on the fourth Sunday each month at the New Parkway Theater in Oakland from January to June, 2014.
