"All Our Relations Racial Healing Circle & Multicultural Dance Celebration"
The "All Our Relations Racial Healing Circle & Multicultural Dance Celebration" offers a free opportunity to explore what and how racial healing can be advanced, promoted, and nurtured through meaningful dialogue of sharing our stories and learning of the experiences from many diverse perspectives.
12:30 - 3 pm -- ALL OUR RELATIONS RACIAL HEALING CIRCLE We will begin at 12:30 pm with the All Our Relations Racial Healing Circle, and doors will open by 12 pm. These Racial Healing Circles are open to all and focus on creating brave, compassionate spaces for discussions that help us carry our shared humanity into what we say and our actions. By engaging in these Racial Healing Circle, we hope to contribute to a greater sense of peace, pride, love, and respect for all and to all. Everyone is welcome to join us!
CIRCLE AGENDA: 12:30 pm - Lunch is served! 12:50 pm - All Our Relations Racial Healing Circle begins 1:00 pm - Circle continues with introductions, overview, group agreements, and dialogue. Also, because of the sensitive nature of these discussions, we will need to close the doors by 1 pm as we embark on our Circle. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation. Approx. 2:50 pm - Circle concludes 3:00 pm - break & transition to Multicultural Dance Celebration (that starts at approx. 3:30 pm)
To attend the Racial Healing Circle, pre-registration is appreciated and OPTIONAL!. We also encourage you to bring a friend, if you'd like. And, lunch will be served for participants in the Circle.
Again, everyone is welcome to join us for the All Our Relations Racial Healing Circle!
3:30 - 6 pm -- MULTICULTURAL DANCE CELEBRATION All are welcome to join us for this celebration of Indigenous and global cultures representing African, Asian, European, Indigenous American, and everyone else! We are excited to welcome five diverse groups who will share of cultural dances and communities. No pre-registration is needed for the Multicultural Dance portion of the event.
Our anticipated order and approximate times for the five cultural groups are: 3:30 pm - Welcome & Acknowledgements 3:40 pm - Amor & Heritage Dance Group 4:05 pm - German Folk Dancers (SGTV Edelweiss) 4:30 pm - JGB Shibuki Japanese Taiko Drum Group 4:55 pm - African Warrior & Drum Group 5:20 pm - Traditional Haudenosaunee Dancers from Tonawanda 5:45 pm - Closing Words, Announcements & Thanks 6:00 pm - end of program
This event is part of the "All Our Relations Racial Healing Project" at Native American Community Services of Erie and Niagara Counties, Inc. (NACS) with this Project being funded by the Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo. This event is also supported by the Buffalo Resilience organization, as well as businesses, foundations, and caring individuals, like you!
