Tonight I Am A Ceremonial Dagger: Performance And Overnight Gong Bath with Propheta and Kid Millions
Join us at Wythe Hotel, for a performance and overnight gong bath meditation led by Propheta (Paramatma Siri Sadhana) and percussionist John Colpitts (Kid Millions, Oneida, Man Forever, and Spiritualized).
The gong is one of the oldest musical instruments in the world. Based on ancient wisdom, the gong vibrates at the same frequency as the body allowing the body to deeply self-synchronize and heal itself. The sounds and vibrations of the gong create deep relaxation and state of meditation by altering brain waves from a waking Beta state to deep meditative Theta & Delta states. Science shows that during these brain frequencies we open and access our deeper subconscious and super-conscious minds and these resonant sacred geometries provide key states for lasting healing.
The sound waves of the gong induce a state of effortless meditation ~ the waves of sound release resistance and vibrate all of the body's cells, balancing the chakras and inducing a trance state of effortless meditation.
We encourage you to arrive by 10pm, bring sleeping gear and prepare to stay for the night ~ resting and reclining in comfort and allowing the sounds to "wash" over you. A guided intention setting meditation will open and close the session. Many people have noticeable visceral experiences during a Gong Bath ~ feeling their bodies twitch as the energy meridians are cleared & balanced, have insights, bursts of creative ideas, see splashes of color behind their closed eyes, out of body experiences, or simply experience feelings of total peace & connectedness. The gong is the primal sound of all creativity ~ the origin of all music, sound and words. Symphonic gong vibrations rebalance and integrate the physical, emotional and spiritual bodies, having a profound effect on our cardiovascular, autonomic, parasympathetic, endocrine and immune systems.
The gong is an excellent therapy for stress related issues, depression, fatigue, anger and hostility, feelings of separation, loneliness, and fear along with many other conditions related to lack of balance and harmony in the body. The sounds of the gong can be used to create a sense of unity within a group and stimulate peaceful, creative solutions.
NOTE: For the best experience, please do not have any intoxicants (drink/drug/smoke) beforehand. The gong vibrations go so deep into the subconscious mind, organs, chakras, and meridians that it is a super detoxing and healing medicine. It is best to be as clear and pure as possible to receive and integrate these energetic transmissions.
WHAT TO BRING: All are encouraged to bring a yoga mat as a base, then sheepskins, lots of blankets, comforters, sleeping bags, pillows,(basically pack a duffel bag full of sleeping goodies) and journals because the creative dream state will really be opening, any sacred objects, and water to stay hydrated as the healing goes deep.

PROPHETA (Paramatma Siri Sadhana) is an Aquarian sound project constellating around the nucleus of the symphonic gong. A Certified Kundalini Yoga teacher, Paramatma Siri Sadhana was taught and mentored from a young age personally by Yogi Bhajan, the Master who brought Kundalini Yoga to the West. Her name, given by Bhajan, means "The Lioness who Continually Merges with the Supreme Soul of All through the Wealth of her Great and Victorious Discipline." She is known for her deeply devoted personal sadhana, her profound experience-knowledge base, and her contemporary and relevant approach to a timeless practice. Her classes and her presence are deeply and subtly transformative and healing. She is an honors graduate of Georgetown University and is currently based in Manhattan where she makes films and music and teaches and heals privately and at Golden Bridge NYC.

Following a collaborative performance with So Percussion at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York in June of 2013, the musicians entered the studio together to record "Ryonen", an album featuring two pieces that combine the former's precision and ingenuity with the latter's restless punk spirit. "Ryonen" will be released on Thrill Jockey Records this April.
