Antje Duvekot is not like most songwriters. For years, her songs have been critically praised for their hard-won wisdom, dark-eyed realism, and street-smart romanticism. German-born, American-raised, she has risen to the top of the competitive Boston singer-songwriter scene.

Blending uncommonly beautiful vocals with one of the sharpest poetic sensibilities in her field, Duvekot has a remarkable ability to make us believe she is whispering secrets in our ear, and we know that she believes every word she sings.

"...terrific writer and singer, with the instincts to do things right, over and over and over."
-Dave Marsh, Rolling Stone

"When I first heard Antje I knew I was witnessing something very special. She creates an entire,
detailed world in verse, and takes you there with beautiful and understated melody. Her songs are stunning paintings of color and shade and always generate the heat and light that real art should."
Neil Dorfsman, producer of Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Sting, Dire Straits

Danny Schmidt's writing spans from deeply rooted Appalachian mountain gospel to haunted English balladry, from syncopated Piedmont country blues to vagabond protest folk-stumpery. He is considered a troubadour in the tradition of Townes Van Zandt, Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen and Dave Carter. He delivers his songs with a quiet power, informed by a complex understanding of humanity. In the Spring 2008 issue of Sing Out! magazine, journalist Matt Watroba noted that Schmidt's arrangements are powerful, his performances are laid-back yet energetic, while his lyrics are sheer poetry.

"Danny Schmidt is a force of nature: a blue moon, a hundred-year flood, an avalanche of a singer-songwriter. His songs are a flood of poetry, mythology, folk wisdom, and surprise."
- Sing Out! Magazine

"The most brilliant young songwriter I've heard in the past 25 years. His songs are thrillingly poetic."
- Rich Warren, The Midnight Special

"In his use of parable and allegory, there are inevitable comparisons with Cohen and Dylan, but these are songs of such quality and beauty that they more than hold their own in this exalted company."
-5 stars out of 5, Maverick Magazine UK

"With seductive simplicity, his music demands your attention."
- Texas Monthly

"In today's underground folk world, Danny Schmidt is spoken of in reverent tones, drawing comparisons to Leonard Cohen, with a poetry that breathes naturally and without pretension, with results that are both attractive and intense."
- Austin Chronicle
