Madrigal Choir of Binghamton - America Speaks: Readings and Musical Settings of American Poetry
The Madrigal Choir of Binghamton, with members of the Binghamton Community Orchestra and S.T.A.R. (Southern Tier Actors Read) present "America Speaks: Readings and Musical Settings of American Poetry." The concert is on Sunday, April 14, 2024 at 4:00 pm at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 1 Aquinas Way, Binghamton, NY.
Music is by Morten Lauridsen, Stephen Paulus, Eriks Esenwalds and Randall Thompson. A highlight will be the choir singing, along with orchestra, Thompson's "Frostiana," a musical setting of seven country songs by Robert Frost. Readers from S.T.A.R. will read each poem before the song is sung.
Tickets are $20.00 for the general public, and free for students.
