FUGITIVE PIECES
Director: Jeremy Podeswa 105 min. The film is the luminous story of young Jakobs journey through life as he is rescued in Poland by Athos, a Greek archeologist. Athos smuggles him out to his idyllic Greek island and brings him up as his own. Although sheltered by the love of his adoptive father, Jakob is haunted by his early memories. When we meet him again in Toronto now grown, a writer and married, ghosts of childhood memories prevent him from forming lasting relationships. Through his writing and finding true love, Jakob puts together the pieces of his life to make himself whole again. Post Film Discussion with Dr. Sylvia Ginsparg, Psychotherapist and President of the Psychoanalytic Association.
