About (Bridgett M. Davis, US, 1996, 87 min, in English)
** New 4K restoration! **
Beautiful aspiring actor Cicely (Jake-ann Jones) has just landed her first major role, but theres a big problem: it requires a nude scene. Her mother was a Blaxploitation star known for her sex appeal, while Cicely is a survivor of sexual assault with lifelong body image issues, all of which has left her with a strong aversion to disrobing in public. Now, with the support of her boyfriend Joel (Ron Cephas Jones), she attempts to get past her fear.
Celebrated as a key film in the canon of independent African American cinema in the 1990s, Bridgett M. Daviss Naked Acts was included in the seminal anthology The 50 Most Influential Black Films by S. Torriano Berry. It won Best Feature Film by the Black Filmmakers Hall of Fame, Best Film at the Berlin Black Film Festival, Best of the Fest Selection at the Minneapolis/St. Paul International Film Festival, and was an Official Selection at the Festival/PanAfricain Du Cinema (FESPACO) in Burkina Faso, West Africa.

Accessibility
Ticketing, concessions, cinemas, restrooms, and our public edit lab are located on Northwest Film Forum's ground floor, which is wheelchair accessible. We have a limited number of assistive listening devices available for programs hosted in our larger theater, Cinema 1. These devices are maintained by the Technical Director, and can be requested at the ticketing and concessions counter.
The Forum does NOT have assistive devices for the visually impaired, and is not (yet) a scent-free venue. Our commitment to increasing access for our audiences is ongoing, and we welcome all public input on the subject!
If you have additional specific questions about accessibility at our venue, please contact our Patron Services Manager at maria@nwfilmforum.org
