About:
Visiting Bali for research on a book that shes writing, Cathy takes an interest in the black magic cult of Leák. When she is deceived by an evil witch who promises to instruct her in the dark arts, Cathy is turned into a Penanggalan: a flying vampire with internal organs hanging from her neck. Its up to the local holy men to try to contain this force for evil before the Cathy-Penanggalan achieves immortality!
Mystics in Bali offers a bizarre, queasy, jarring so bad its good experience that you will treasure for months to come even as it corrupts your dreams with images of human-pig mutants and dangly vampire lungs.
(H. Tjut Djalil, Indonesia, 1981, 86 min, dubbed in English)

Accessibility
Ticketing, concessions, cinemas, restrooms, and our public edit lab are located on Northwest Film Forum's ground floor, which is wheelchair accessible. We have a limited number of assistive listening devices available for programs hosted in our larger theater, Cinema 1. These devices are maintained by the Technical Director, and can be requested at the ticketing and concessions counter.
The Forum does NOT have assistive devices for the visually impaired, and is not (yet) a scent-free venue. Our commitment to increasing access for our audiences is ongoing, and we welcome all public input on the subject!
If you have additional specific questions about accessibility at our venue, please contact our Patron Services Manager at maria@nwfilmforum.org
