subterrain is an environment unrestricted by the genres of the surface -- an uncharted zone of heat and pressure, where only a few glimmers of light can reach.

The organizers of this event believe that dance spaces can not claim immunity or ignorance to the struggles of the outside world. As we celebrate the music we love, it is crucial to acknowledge that marginalized communities at all intersections, including but not limited to Indigenous, Black, Palestinian and Trans people, are experiencing ongoing oppression and violence.

At this event, we are working towards this commitment by stating our values clearly, by choosing financial accessibility over profit, and by building space that prioritizes BIPOC and 2SLGBTQIA+ artists. We also value collaboration with allied artists, and welcome all to the dance.
