The organizers of this event believe that dance spaces can not claim immunity or ignorance to the struggles of the outside world. As we celebrate the music we love, it is crucial to acknowledge that marginalized communities at all intersections, including but not limited to Indigenous, Black, Palestinian and Trans people, are experiencing ongoing oppression and violence.

We believe music can be a means of solidarity and positive social change and we are committed to the ongoing cause of dismantling colonization, racism, and capitalism. At this event, we are working towards this commitment by stating our values clearly, by choosing financial accessibility over profit, and by building space that prioritizes BIPOC and 2SLGBTQIA+ artists. We also value collaboration with allied artists, and welcome all to the dance.
