Vivace, Champagne Series Opening Concert
Vivace (pronounced vi-va-chay) is a modern and thrilling combination of four unique and exceptional pop and classical singers. Based primarily out of Vancouver, Melody Courage, Tiffany Desrosiers, Marc Devigne and DJ Calhoun first merged their talents in 2010 performing at the Vancouver Winter Olympic Games. Since then, they have gone on to tour extensively through the U.S. and Canada stirring audiences everywhere they go.
The latest addition to the classical crossover/popera genre, Vivace's stirring combination of powerful male voices and emotionally driven female vocals comes together to create a sound that is exclusively their own. With a rich and diverse repertoire ranging from pop, to arias, to their own self-written material, Vivace undoubtedly puts a fresh new take on the classical and modern music of today.
Coloratura soprano Melody Courage has performed professionally with Vancouver Opera for over a decade and soloed with several symphony orchestras. Soprano Tiffany Desrosiers embraces many styles of singing including opera, pop with her single reaching the top 10 in UK pop club charts, and composing. Marc Devigne's focus is theater and musical theater, he was a finalist on CTV's "Canadian Idol," and is exploring composition and music production. CJ Calhoun holds a Masters in Music in Opera Performance, has appeared in many Vancouver Opera productions and has crossed over into musical theater.
They will be accompanied by Trevor Hoffman, pianist, and Janna Sailor, violinist.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for general admission seat selection, champagne and no-host beverages.
