Tucson Bound Music with Roland Roberts, Arielle Silver, Chris Baron & Two Secrets, Stephy Leigh Griffen
A special Wednesday evening concert festival night, with four musical sets who are all on their way to Tucson! A little bit about each artist, and we will add more info for each soon:
About Arielle Silver: Los Angeles based, literate folk-pop singer-songwriter Arielle Silver is a masterful storyteller (New Releases Now) whose songs are rich with imagery, empathy, and insight. Conceived in the quiet of the pandemic quarantine, her newest album Watershed takes its title from that watershed moment and the woodsy and watery places where the story-songs are set. A 2024 Finalist in the Tucson Folk Festival Songwriting Contest, Second-Place/Runner-Up in the International Acoustic Music Awards, and Semi-Finalist in the International Songwriting Competition, songs from Watershed have been heard on The Bluegrass Situation, Americana UK, and LA tastemaker station 88.5FM The SoCal Sound. Twangville calls Watershed, "a mix of sophisticated, reflective songs" and (most thrilling for Arielle) NYTimes bestselling author Cheryl Strayed called it "Beautiful. In multiple reviews of her albums and live concerts, Music Connection writes, Superb stage presence an excellent songwriter a born communicator... exudes intelligence and humanity.
About Roland Roberts: Memphis born, Alabama raised, Colorado grown and now a staple in the ever flourishing Alaskan music scene. Roland Roberts is able to blend an array of genres (bluegrass, alt country, blues and folk) into a captivating yet delicate musical experience. With comparisons to the likes of John Prine, his storytelling and stage presence have entertained audiences across North America. After recording his debut album, All About The Timing in Whitehorse, Yukon and settling in Hatcher Pass, Alaska, Roberts connected with drummer Matthew Wallace. They soon added talented multi-instrumentalist Matt Faubion and bass player extraordinaire Garrett Monroe creating the Roland Roberts Band.
About Chris Baron and Two Secrets: Two Secrets is Chris Baron's rock-fusion performance band based in Oregon. CB Norton, Leoshki, Paulie...the Core. Westbound Paulie - Upright bass, single note harmony singing / Debbie Stewart - cello, harmonies / Midnight Leo - Drums, yelling
About Stephy Leigh Griffin: ...just another vessel for moodyass country and 1920s trad jazz! Songmaker-singer trumpet guitar &dogs.
A diverse group of musicians share their music this evening, all going to the Tucson Folk Festival, and we hope you can join us for this Pre-Tucson Folk Festival, Festival!
