Ed Reed Trio
Critically acclaimed as one of the most keenly observant jazz singers with a gift of getting deep inside a lyric, in the last seven years Reed has performed nationally and internationally, been a guest on Marian McPartland's "Piano Jazz;" was profiled by Nat Hentoff in the Wall Street Journal; and placed as a Male Vocalist Rising Star in the Downbeat Critic's Poll in 5 out of the last 6 years. His latest CD, I'm a Shy Guy, the music of the King Cole Trio, was on the Jazzweek charts for over 4 months. Ed will be joined by two of his favorite virtuosos: pianist Randy Porter and bassist Robb Fisher. Randy's elegant jazz piano, intuitive accompaniment and thoughtful interpretation of the lyric makes him a favorite with vocalists and musicians alike. He has been musical director, arranger and pianist on Ed's last two CD's and has toured with Ed since 2009. Ed worked with Robb for five years at his weekly gig at the Cheeseboard and is happy to have Robb join him on the bandstand once again with his beautifully lyrical and unique bass style.
