A Little Theatre Adventure -- "A Chorus Line"
You'll enjoy a matinee performance of SLO Little Theatre's production of "A Chorus Line", followed by a talkback - led by longtime SLO Little Theatre actor and volunteer, Elaine Fournier,
The Play: A CHORUS LINE is a stunning musical-verite about a chorus audition for a Broadway musical. It tells of the achingly poignant ambitions of professional Broadway gypsies to land a job in the show, and is a powerful metaphor for all human aspiration. Memorable musical numbers include I Can Do That, At the Ballet, Dance: Ten; Looks: Three, The Music and the Mirror, What I Did for Love, One (Singular Sensation) and I Hope I Get It. It is a brilliantly complex fusion of dance, song and compellingly authentic drama. The show was instantly recognized as a classic.
The talkback: A talkback is a post-show informal conversation with members of Enchanted April's artistic staff and cast. Led by long-time SLO Little Theatre contributor Elaine Fournier, this is a chance to learn about character development from the actor's point of view, and the rehearsal process. You may ask any questions about the show or artistic process and gain more of an insight into the theater works.
Elaine Fournier has a Master's in English with a dramatic literature emphasis. She taught theatre appreciation, acting, dramatic literature and film at Cuesta College, and taught English composition at Cal Poly and Hancock College.
Elaine has also been with SLO Little Theatre since she was 15 years-old and was a dancer in Oklahoma! at the Madonna Inn. She moved through the ranks to become a choreographer, an actor and a director. She has been on the Board of the Little Theatre for the last four years, with several other four-year termsin her past. Currently she serves on the Board's Artistic Advisory Committee that chooses the plays for the season. She is also a Lifetime Member, an honorific for years of service.
Her real passion is Shakespeare. To that end, she did a week-long residency at the Globe Theatre in London, followed by a 3-week Shakespeare summer session at Cambridge.
Discount tickets for LLCC members for this performance are $22 each. Non-members may puchase tickets for $27 each . There will be no snack offered after this performance..
