ACCORDION Michele Cournoyer - Canada A woman connects to the Internet. She not only embraces technology but surrenders to it entirely as she downloads her body and soul to her electronic lover. In this world of Pandora's boxes, sexual desire and dehumanizing machine intertwine till they're finally and brutally disconnected.
BOB'S ARK Wendy Rubin - USA 2004 Noah had seven days to build the ark; but what about Bob? Bob's Ark is a very short, multi-media bible spoof combining live action, crayon animation and stock footage that tells an old story with a new perspective.
L'HOMME SANS OMBRE Georges Schwizgebel - Canada Why bother dragging around one's shadow? A man agrees to a pact with a magician and swaps his shadow for riches. He soon discovers the absence of a shadow can be a humiliating handicap. After fleeing to the far corners of the earth, he ends up in Bali, in a theatre of shadow puppets, where he discovers the true worth of shadows.
REX STEELE: NAZI SMASHER Alexander Woo - USA 2004 Those pesky Nazis are at it again, and who better to clobber those Krouts sour than Rex Steele, Nazi Smasher extraordinaire?
THE DEVIL & MANNY SCHMECKSTEIN Jim Goodman - USA 2003 When washed-up comedian Manny Schmeckstein dies, he goes to hell for a lifetime's worth of bad jokes. But the Devil gives Manny a shot at redemption. If he can get one laugh.
THREE AMIGOS Firdaus Kharas - Canada 2004 The Three Amigos is a series of twenty Public Service Annoucements (PSA's) on HIV/AIDS prevention created by 80 volunteers that use comedy as a medium.
THROUGH MY THICK GLASSES Pjotr Sapegin - Canada The girl with the thick glasses doesn't like to put on her winter hat. Every time Grandfather shoves it down onto her head, she takes it off and throws it down on the ground. Grandmother suggests that Grandfather distract the little girl-- so he launches into one of his endless stories about the war. As soon as Grandfather starts telling his story, the shapeless silhouette in front of the girl's enormous eyes is transformed into images that give life to an incredible story-- and we see how her prodigious imagination compensates for falling eyesight.
