Bitch and Tell: a real funny variety show
New Venue New Shows: Footloose is moving to the Kunst-Stoff Arts space in San Francisco's booming Central Market district at One Grove Street where Market and Hyde merge across from the Main Library and the Orpheum Theater.
Bitch & Tell: A real, funny variety show features returning guests and new faces to this monthly series with physical comedy, puppetry, theater, magic, standup, improvisation and more! Kurt Bodden brings Steve Seabrook. Allison Daniel is the puppet master. Magician David Facer appears as Spelvin. Bob McIntyre comes as himself. Plus Paco Romane has a few surprises in store.
Kurt Bodden has improv, sketch comedy and physical theater chops from performing at the Edinburgh Fringe, BATS and his own talk show at the Purple Onion and from training at The Groundlings and Flying Actor Studio. His solo show, "Steve Seabrook: Better Than You" is a satire of the personal-growth industry. After a successful six-month run at The Marsh, Steve Seabrook is going on tour. You can see Steve at this month's Bitch and Tell. Catch Kurt and Allison Daniel in their new show "An Awkward Sensation" at the San Francisco Fringe Festival this fall. www.kurtbodden.com
Allison Daniel balances creating original ensemble and solo performance with construction of her own puppetry designs which vary from 7 inch tall musical mice to a six foot tall "space bear" body puppet. Her physical style as a puppeteer, clown, acrobat, and mime ranges from ridiculous to serene between creepy and adorable. She is a graduate of the Flying Actors Conservatory program (James Donlon, Leonard Pitt), and a current student of the Clown Conservatory program at SF Circus Center. In Chicago she designed and built (as well as sometimes performed or directed) puppets for many of Chicago's theatre companies including Chicago Dramatist's "10 Virgins" and Blair Thomas' production, "The Ox-Herder's Tale." She worked for The Joffery Ballet, The Marriott Theatre of Lincolnshire and Redmoon Theatre. She was the First Recipient of the Peggy Ford and Paoli Lacy Award for female clowns in 2012. www.onefleacircus.com
David Facer is an award winning magician and illusionist with spellbinding paradoxical mysteries designed to captivate and excite. Part magic, part dance and performance art, David's eccentric characters and dreamlike visions are unique. His one-man show, "The World of Paradox" premiered this winter at The Garage. He has been showcased at the San Francisco Zoo, Six Flags, Castro Street Fair, The Alcove Theater, plus many nightclubs, cabarets and private events. www.paradoxmagic.com
Bob McIntyre got his first job as a waiter at the local bingo hall in Colonial Manor, New Jersey at age 13 where he learned the skills that would carry him through an additional 28 years of various restaurant jobs in a variety of establishments that would never be referred to as "fine dining." He has performed his hilarious storytelling style of comedy recently at EL RIO and Comedy Bodega with Marga Gomez. This is his second round of Bitch and Tell.
Paco Romane returns to bitch again about whatever is happening in his life! He appears everywhere including SF Sketchfest, Comedy Day, SF Fringe Festival and is considered "a favorite because he brings energy, improv and great observations into his act!" NBC Bay Area. He was voted "Best Comedian" in the SF Weekly and Bay Guardian "Paco Romane really knows how to deliver the laughs." He has produced the critically acclaimed Romane Event Comedy Show for 9 years. He appeared on Comedy Central's Drunk History-San Francisco. NPR recently named Romane "an up-and-coming" comedian and he was invited to perform live on Michael Krasny's Forum. He is an actor, writer, director and company member of the sketch comedy group, Killing My Lobster. Paco has worked with Robin Williams, W. Kamau Bell, Moshe Kasher, Eric Andre, Brendan Walsh, Kids In the Hall, Matt Braunger, Will Durst, and many others. www.pacoromane.com
