UTS Presents *Machinal*
Directed by: Grace Lewis Written by: Sophie Treadwell
UTS strives to make theater as accessible as possible. If our ticket prices are cost prohibitive, please reach out to uwuts97@gmail.com
DESCRIPTION
From the outside, Helen Jones and her husband had a happy marriage. Until she murdered him.
Based on the true crime story of Ruth Snyder in 1928 that shook a nation, Sophie Treadwells seminal Machinal is a pulse-pounding journey of someone pushed to breaking point by the relentless machinery of life, expectation and convention.
CONTENT WARNING This production of Machinal contains scenes of sexual discomfort and descriptions of graphic violence. No assaults take place on stage.
UTS TICKET POLICY Because late entrances and seating can be disruptive to both actors and audience members, doors will be roped off promptly at 2:00 PM or 7:30 PM depending on if the show is a matinee or an evening performance. Please plan ahead and give yourself ample time for travel, parking, and other necessary allowances. If you have not claimed your tickets by 2:00 PM or 7:00 PM, they will be released for any patrons on our wait list for that night's performance.
The Undergraduate Theater Society does not generally provide refunds, though, in specific circumstances, arrangements can be made; contact uwuts97@gmail.com
BUYING ONLINE OR AT THE DOOR Online ticket sales for a particular performance end 12 hours before show time. There will always be approximately 10 tickets available for purchase at the door. Ticket sales at the door begin an hour before show time, so to ensure that you are able to purchase a ticket, show up early! We accept cash, checks, and credit cards, and we participate in TeenTix!
