Join us for an in-depth workshop on maple sugaring. This workshop will offer participants thorough knowledge of the maple sugaring process and equip everyone with the confidence to make their own maple products at home. Class topics include: Sugaring history, tree care & conservation, sap collection, simple processing methods using commonly available resources and tools, and more. This workshop is free and open to all on a first come-first served basis. Attendance is limited and registration is required.
We'll begin at the County Museum (126 South Monroe Street, Monroe, Michigan 48161), and conclude with tree tapping at the River Raisin Territorial Park (3815 North Custer Road, Monroe, Michigan 48162). Participants are responsible for their own transportation, and should dress to be outdoors for about an hour toward the conclusion of the event. Grounds may be soggy - boots are strongly suggested.
For questions about the workshop, please contact JJ Przewozniak at jj_przewozniak@monroemi.org // (734) 410-8232.
