Kaleidoscope In Concert
The Creative Dance Center's resident modern dance company, Kaleidoscope Dance Company, presents Kaleidoscope in Concert at the Broadway Performance Hall Mother's Day weekend, May 9, 10, and 11. This rich and diverse show features new works by local and nationally recognized choreographers. Premieres by Marlene Strang, James Brosnahan, Angelica DeLashmette, Debbie Gilbert and Joanne Petroff, and Kaleidoscope graduate Fionnuala Doyle-Wade run the gamut from retro/quirky to contemporary modern to swing dance. Also on the program are Forms Unfolding by Anna Mansbridge, a balletic modern piece set to the gorgeous music of Vivaldi, Stars at Play by Anne Green Gilbert, Subsumed by Louisa Fish Sadin, A Memory, a beautiful and moving piece about the power of friendship, by Kaleidoscope dancers Maya St. Sebastian and Tshedzom Tingkhye, and Across the Plains choreographed by Kaleidoscope Dance Company. Each performance will also feature a dance that premiered at this year's Gift of Dance Concert. Kaleidoscope's unique blend of talent, enthusiasm, and soul will delight and captivate audiences of all ages. Kaleidoscope in Concert celebrates the joy of dance with an exceptional balance of youth and professionalism. Kaleidoscope Dance Company is made up of young people ages 7-16.
