FURY Factory - "Run if You Care About Dying", "Men Think They're Better Than Grass," and "Medea3"
"Run if You Care About Dying" states the idea that at the intersection of love, death, God and YouTube is you. An interdisciplinary performance celebrating the awkward beauty of living and transcendence. Using walk-through installation, original and found text, song and movement, DEBORAH ELIEZER, SILVIA GIRARDI and collaborators examine the miracles we encounter in the every day. Featuring writing by ALLISON DELAUER and sound design by SHUNDO HAYE. ~~~~~"Men Think They Are Better Than Grass" is a lush and vibrant movement, inspired by nature; the words of a poem projected as a swarm of bees flying; fabric panels creating mobile projection surfaces for shifting images like icebergs or rising and falling weighing scales the perfect metaphor for global cause and affect and the dynamic collaboration it will take to change it. ~~~~~~"Medea3" asks the question several scholars have grappled with when pouring over the text of the great play Medea: What was she thinking? This adaptation is an exploration: a glimpse into the mind of Medea the moment after she has killed her children. Three actors personify Medea's mind. Her thoughts, her music, and her passion. Together these three presences re-think and reveal the events of Medea's experiences through a collage of original text, poetry, song, and movement.
