DJ Sid Presley's Outer Limits - Singapore 60's Night!
DJ Sid Presley's Outer Limits returns to Forbidden Island Tiki Lounge on Thursday January 25, 2024, but with a twist!
I, DJ Sid, am an obsessive collector of Asian 60's vinyl. Most of my records are from Singapore, but the collection also includes titles from Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, The Philippines, Korea, India, and plenty of surf & GS goodness from Japan.
In all the years I've been a part of the FI family, I've only played two all-Asian 60's sets - Once in 2011 for the Japan Earthquake Relief benefit, and again in 2017 as a guest at Otto's Grotto.
Well, I've acquired a few more records since that last gig. A lot, really, and we think it's time to bring them out and share the magic.
You'll hear teen A' go-go dancers, scorching surf instros, regional hits, garage rockers, crazed cover tunes, a little bit of psych and soul, and more.
The best thing is, I'm playing all original vinyl, all night.
That's right. No compilations, no reissues, no bootlegs, no CD's, no mp3's, and definitely no YouTube videos...
