Studio Lab: Matters of the Mind with Valérie Rousseau, Tom DiMaria and Jacolby Satterwhite
Organized on the occasion of When the Stars Begin to Fall: Imagination and the American South, this special Studio Lab considers curatorial and service-based approaches to artists with cognitive or mental disabilities. The panelists will question the implications of how these artists's works are made, historicized and presented. The program features Tom Di Maria, Director, Creative Growth Art Center; Valérie Rousseau, PhD, curator of Art of the Self-Taught and Art Brut at the American Folk Art Museum and Jacolby Satterwhite, artist and participant in When the Stars Begin to Fall: Imagination and the American South. The conversation will be moderated by Adrienne Edwards, Associate Curator, Performa Institute.
