Amanda Richards, Amber Rubarth, Karli Fairbanks
Amanda Richards: Portland's Bohemian Country Songstress, has a voice that commands instant attention- alternately clear, cutting, gritty, sultry and full of longing. With 3 full length albums under her belt, 3rd place in the national battle of the bands competition Famecast, recognition for her outstanding songwriting abilities from organizations such as 'The Oregon Symphony' coupled with her free-spirited, organic approach to performing-- it is only natural for one to assume that this young lady's star is on the rise. http://www.myspace.com/amandarichardsband www.sonicbids.com/bohemiancountrysongstress
Amber Rubarth: Take the timelessness of Patsy Cline. Mix in the insatiable curiosity of Socrates. Give it an edge, a roughness, refined in the spirit but raw in the performance, like someone singing in the shower. You'll start to have an idea of what makes up Amber Rubarth.
TOM WAITS helped choose "Washing Day" (co-written with Adam Levy of Norah Jones' Band) as first place in the International Songwriting Competition for lyrics. Hollywood's music magazine MUSIC CONNECTION voted her in their Hot 100 Artists. Owl Magazine named Her debut CD one of the TOP 10 ALBUMS OF THE YEAR (alongside Kanye hest & Alicia Keys). NPR loves her "honesty and humor." And her songs have generated over 1.3 million songs on my space. Brooklyn based Amber Rubarth is now touring throughout the U.S. and Europe in support of her new cd "New Green Lines." She plans to release another full length album this fall. www.myspace.com/amberrubarth www.sonicbids.com/amberrubarth
Karli Fairbanks: Spokane based Karli Fairbanks is touring this April in support of her new release, The Breaking of Our Days. Backed by a full band of outstanding musicians from Seattle and Spokane, Washington, this new album weaves in and out of several genres as Karli dips her songwriting toes even deeper into a river of past and present musical influences. From the weary blues of Bonnie Raitt to the whiskey tongued country of Gillian Welch, each song derives feeling and style from the outside world while shedding a little bit of light on the inter-workings of a young, hopeful musician's heart. All ten tracks were written by Karli who also performed many of the parts on the record including guitar, piano, banjo and accordion. > With several years of live performance under her belt and shared shows around the Northwest with Horse Feathers, David Bazan, Johanna Kunin, My Brightest Diamond, Nick Jaina, Damien Jurado, The Maldives, Norfolk & Western and many more, Karli will be embarking on her first full band tour in the month of April to release and promote The Breaking of Our Days. www.myspace.com/karlifairbanks www.karlifairbanks.com >
