ABOUT NAKED BLUE: https://www.nakedblue.com
Drawing from the Americana tradition and keeping a roots rock sensibility, performing songwriter team Jen and Scott Smith, and their band Naked Blue, have become a mainstay on the singer-songwriter/pop scene. They have released 7 full-length albums and built a devoted following of their songwriting, recordings, and performances, Their latest release is an extraordinary collaboration with bestselling author Lee Child based on his iconic Jack Reacher character, entitled Just the Clothes on My Back. They've been touring with the new album in 2019 with headline shows including City Winery in NYC and Nashville, Firehouse Saloon - Houston, The Hamilton Live - DC, World Cafe Live - Philly, Red Clay Theatre - Duluth, and more.
Scott and Jen's obvious joyous connection on stage and easy rapport with their audience are the hallmarks of their performance style; defined by their interwoven guitar work, Jen's instantly recognizable smoky, vulnerable voice, and Scott's passionate, impeccable lead guitar. Over the years they've developed a reputation for great songwriting as well; credits include cuts on Evangeline's 'French Quarter Moon' Margaritaville / MCA, Troy Turner's single on Telarc Records, and many many tracks in TV and film, including Brooklyn South, The Smokers and The Girl Next Door.
Naked Blue has worked with a host of fine artists, sharing stages with John Mayer, Joe Cocker, Dan Fogelberg, and Aimee Mann, to name a few. Scott and Jen's Wood and Stone Room recording studio and Wood and Stone Songwriting Retreat have led to collaboration credits on a songwriting Whos Who including Todd Wright, Jon Carroll, Wyatt Easterling, Anton Fig, and more.
ABOUT STEPHEN CLAIR: stephenclair.com
"Stephen Clair is in a fine position to secure that big breakout hes been building towards over the course of eight albums and a career thats found him in the role of a tireless troubadour. American Songwriter
Stephen Clair has released many more albums over the years and toured and done all the things, experiencingall the near misses of life in the biz. Critics and his family love him first. Everyone else has comearound in their own sweet time.
Rawboned, his latest effort, The Presentation of Self in Everyday Life, features only Clair and aguitar, except when it's Clair and a rickety piano. The songs are miniature stories, the essence ofemotion, and the arrangements and performances fit accordingly. "Every note, every part including the air around it is intentional," says Clair. "I recorded it alone, in a room, over months, guitar in my lap, mousing with one hand, groping through the microphones surrounding me. I recorded take after take of each song. What you hear are complete, intact performances of each song. No punching in, no edits, no cutting and pasting. Each track on the record is a complete performance."
Clair first came to prominence when the late Rita Houston pronounced her love for "Jen in HerUnderwear," adding it to regular rotation on WFUV, thereby putting Clair on the map and the road. His next effort was Under the Bed, followed by What Luck (2007.) In 2019, Clair teamed up with celebrated producer Malcolm Burn (U2 and Emmylou Harris), the result, an epic garage album, Strange Perfume. Paste Magazine declared "Clair's lyrics are everyman poetry with a dash of self-deprecation and gallows humor to go with his otherwise uncluttered views of the world around and within him.
