Paranormal Exploration at the Cohen Bray House, Oakland CA
Explore the paranormal at the historic Cohen Bray House, Saturday, May 3, 2014       Oakland, CA

The beautiful Stick-style home was built in 1882-1884 by Julia Moses and Watson A. Bray for their daughter Emma, upon her marriage to Alfred H. Cohen, attorney. The families of both the bride and groom were wealthy and socially prominent  Watson Bray was a successful commodities broker while A. A. Cohen had established the first railroad and ferry system in Alameda County. He also served as chief attorney for the Central Pacific Railroad.

The house has never been sold out of the family and contains the original furniture, wallpaper, woodwork, and many personal objects.  It also holds the spirits of several family members and at least one person who worked on the property.

Join veteran investigators Karen Zimmerman, Chuck Thurston and Scott Mosbaugh as they lead small teams through the three stories of the historic home. Participants will learn about capturing audio and video evidence, and aerospace engineer Chuck will demonstrate some of his homemade ghost hunting gadgets. Alternative methods of spirit communication, such as dowsing rods and pendulums will also be explored, as well as popular smartphone apps. And everyone will receive a pendulum to take home.

The evening also includes a spirit circle with Linda Grindel, who has been doing psychic readings since 1980. Her father is of Irish/Scottish decent and her mother of Comanche/Mexican decent. Her mother took her to the Tribe when she was born, where Elders determined she has the "third eye." She is a registered Comanche Indian and is still doing personal readings in Benicia at Angel Heart 4 You (http://angelheart4you.net/).  Linda will contact the spirits of the house (if they cooperate) and give mini-readings to those gathered at the table.

There's also a snack break, where everyone can chat and share experiences.

Ghostly activity during previous investigations includes "shadow people," footsteps, knocking, tugged-at clothing, electromagnetic field disturbances, and plentiful Electronic Voice Phenomena.

Space is limited, and you must be at least 18 to attend.
