Event
AEG Oregon Chapter - December 2023 Meeting
Abstract:
In the world of geotechnical construction, rockfall mitigation encompasses some of the most unique and challenging construction conditions. This presentation will provide an overview of common constructability challenges one may expect to encounter on a rockfall mitigation project and the potential design and/or bidding considerations. Owners and Engineers may consider when developing solutions for these high-risk geohazards. Examples will be provided from a recent hydroelectric project in the North Cascades and an ongoing hydroelectric project in the Olympic Range.
