Protecting pollinators at home: Fall natural lawn care
Pollinator populations have declined by 25% in most areas of the US. During this session, two speakers will discuss how we can halt this pollinator decline and even reverse it!
First, Midwest Grows Green's Ryan Anderson covers the far-reaching environmental and health effects of the US lawn & garden sector and the need to follow the cost-effective, more biologically sound approach of natural lawn care. Anderson, also, shares eco-lawn information for those homeowners that want both a pollinator-friendly and manicured backyard.
Second, Toby Seegert of the Zoological Society of Milwaukee, will share how community members can support pollinators by participating in No Mow May or other similar movements. Interested? Learn more about No Mow May Milwaukee at bit.ly/NoMowMayMKE.
This event is free, but donations to the non-profit IPM Institute are appreciated.
