The Cast at Edinburgh FC / EFC
The Cast is Mairi Campbell (voice, fiddle, viola, piano) and David Francis (voice, guitar). The duo, once very active on the live circuit and with four albums to their name (five if you count Mairis solo album which they co-wrote), are making a rare appearance after an absence of a decade and more. In the intervening time Davids time has been taken up by his role as a folk bureaucrat (as he puts it) with Traditional Arts and Culture Scotland, while Mairi has been making a solo career as a theatre-maker, gathering plaudits for her shows Pulse and Auld Lang Syne. The song Auld Lang Syne brought the pair to world-wide attention when The Casts version was used in the hit movie, Sex and the City. The Folk Club gig will consist of a selection of traditional songs and tunes, their take on Burns, and their own powerful self-penned material. Opening for The Cast will be their musical daughter, Ada Grace Francis who will also join them for a few numbers.

UCC has relatively easy access for wheelchair users. There's a portable ramp to enable the wheelchair to get past 3-4 steps from the street to the main door. Once inside everything is on the same level (ground floor) - performance room, bar and disabled-friendly toilets.
