2014 Madison Area Historic Preservation Awards
The Madison Trust for Historic Preservation presents the annual Madison Area Hitoric Preservation Awards.
The event is open to the public, and will take place at the Madison Masonic Center.
This year's event will include:
- Cocktail hour with a tour of the "Temple of Freemasonry" designed by early-twentieth-century master architects James and Edward Law, and built in 1925.
- Complimentary appetizers and beverages, and a cash bar!
- A Silent Auction, including: Tickets to Frank Lloyd Wright Wisconsin's 2014 Wright & Like house tour, concert tickets, and other fabulous items.
- Presentation of Awards.
The Awards recognize building, design and construction projects that seek to maintain the character of historic places or rehabilitate them for contemporary uses. Commercial, residential and civic projects are eligible. Projects may involve buildings, landscapes, or any element of the built environment.
There are also categories for long-term stewardship of historic places and preservation advocacy, and in 2009 we introduced a new category the Future Landmark Award for Distinctive New Contemporary Design.
