The Uttaratantra Shastra (Skt. Mahynottaratantra stra) is one of the most studied texts in monastic and scholarly settings. It is traditionally ascribed to MaitreyaAsaga received the teaching directly from Maitreya in the pure land and brought it to the human realm. It is considered a commentary on the third wheel of dharma, dealing with Buddha nature. In this course, we will go through the text verse by verse and strive to understand it. There are several commentaries on the text by Tibetan masters; however, our primary source commentary will be by Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche, which is based on the commentaries of Rongton Sheja Kunrig and Jamgon Kongtrul.
