Allison Cameron in Concert
Victoria On Saturday, April 12, 2014, at 7:00 p.m., musician and composer Allison Cameron will present a solo concert of improvised music creating sound environments drawn from a collection of instruments. Her music is created using Casio SK sampling keyboards/ukulele/banjo/Honeytone amplifiers/ radios/a desktop theremin/drum machine/crackle box/cassette tapes/ miscellaneous instruments, and objects amplified with a variety of contact mics and guitar pedals. Come see what Cameron has in store for Victoria. This is a concert not to miss.
Allison Cameron composes and performs experimental music. As a composer, she has written for a variety of ensembles throughout North America and Europe. As a performer, she founded The Allison Cameron Band with Eric Chenaux and Stephen Parkinson and the improvising trio cRL with Nicole Rampersaud and Germaine Liu and has toured solo across Canada and in the United States. This past August, she presented her first sound installation at the Electric Eclectics Festival 8 at the Funny Farm in Meaford, Ontario. In September/October she recorded icebergs while sailing the waters around the Arctic archipelago of Svalbard aboard a barquentine tall ship. Currently, she is working on a recording of chamber works with Toronto ensemble Contact, supported by the Ontario Arts Council and finishing a CD with the cRL trio. allisoncameronmusic.com

Allison Cameron in Concert has been funded by the British Columbia Arts Council, British Columbia Community Gaming Grant, the Capital Regional District, the City of Victoria, the Canada Council for the Arts, the Victoria Foundation, CFUV 101.9 FM, the SOCAN Foundation, and the Bedford Regency Hotel.
