SHADOW IN BAGHDAD is a documentary film that traces the story of the Jewish community and its disappearance from Baghdad. Jews have played a major role in the Iraqi society. They had an important role in the making of modern Iraq, only later, to be brutally driven out and virtually annihilated as a community. The story-line of the film is structured around a rather surprising narrative: A young journalist from Baghdad sets out to write about Linda Abdul Aziz, who escaped Iraq to Israel in the early 70's and about her father, who decided to stay in Iraq, was later kidnapped and disappeared and his fate remained unknown. The physical barrier between Linda, who is in Israel, and the Iraqi journalist, is broken by the Internet and suspicion converts into trust. Slowly they uncover the tragic end of Linda's father, as well as that of a whole Jewish community that thrived in Iraq for over 2000 years.
