THE PAIN OF LOVE, Director: Alcee H. Walker THE PAIN OF LOVE is a documentary that explores my childhood, and what it is like to grow up in a dysfunctional family. I'm trying to understand how I pulled through, and so many of my siblings did not. The primary focus of the film is my journey to reconcile with my absentee father and mother after 24 years of my life.
I'LL BE HERE ALL NIGHT, Director: Andrew Parkhill Singer-songwriter Dave tries to entertain a rowdy pub, but his moody songs of love and loss don't go down well until he finds unexpected help from local hard man Roy, who makes the crowd shut up and listen. But when Roy refuses to let him stop playing, Dave soon finds that hecklers are the least of his problems.
VISIONS OF MUSTANG, Director: Daniel Byers The Forbidden Kingdom of Mustang lies in a remote region of northwestern Nepal, nestled in the Himalayas at an average altitude of 13,000 feet. It is a last refuge for traditional Tibetan Buddhist and nomadic culture. Due to extreme sun exposure, its people suffer one of the highest rates of cataract blindness in the world, and lack even the most basic form of medical care. VISIONS OF MUSTANG follows the first expedition to enter Upper Mustang to provide surgical clinics and restore sight. VISIONS OF MUSTANG is both a film about the power of vision in a place where day-to-day survival is dependent on it, and a portrait of a unique culture in a vast and beautiful landscape.
