Shakespeare's 450th Birthday Bash!
Birthday Party with Mrs. Shakespeare 2:00 to 4:00 pm A family-friendly party for the Bard featuring live music, with The Bard to the Bone Players; art-making activities; Shakespeare stories with storyteller, Alan Irvine; monologues and scenes from "A Midsummer Night's Dream," presented by Hope Academy students; stage combat demonstrations by Tonya Lynn; interactive "insult hurling"; and yes, there will be birthday cake! Shakespear-ience: An Evening of Romance, Murder and Intrigue 6:00 to 9:30 pm Activities and Music 6:30 pm Performance Tour #1 8:00 pm Performance Tour #2 Adult-themed performances based on "Romeo and Juliet," "The Tempest," "Othello," and "Macbeth" will take the audience through East Liberty Presbyterian Church on "performance tours" featuring monologues and scenes, opera, dance and stage combat, with our own strolling minstrels, The Band of Misfits, leading the way. There will be two tours, one at 6:30 pm and one at 8:00 pm; with activities in the social hall all evening long - so come early, or stay late, to meet, mingle and make things. Magic Organs art squad, DS Kinsel and Julie Mallis, will live paint; Joe Kennedy, of DJ duo Tracksploitation, will spin and remix some Shakespeare inspired tunes; and there will be art-making for the adults, too! Keep checking back for additional artists and activities.
FREE TICKETS - RSPV All events are FREE, and charitable contributions will be gratefully accepted, to help pay the artists, musicians, actors and storytellers who are helping to make this birthday party a bash.

BE A PART OF IT - A CALL FOR ARTISTS! To honor Shakespeare's 450th birthday, we will be exhibiting 450 original portraits of him, created by YOU amateur and professional artists, of all ages. Please submit a drawing, illustration, painting or digital creation of Shakespeare's portrait and then drop your artwork off, or mail it to:
