CFF: COLD HEARTS (1999)
Video Pirates presents Cinedelphia Film Festival April 10-27, 2014
Thursday, April 17, 10:00 PM COLD HEARTS (1999, 90 minutes, Dir. Robert A. Masciantonio) 15th Anniversary Screening $10, no refunds or exchanges.
Come celebrate the 15th Anniversary of the Ocean City, NJ-shot modern vampire classic with Havertown-based filmmaker Robert A. Masciantonio (NEIGHBOR) in attendance!
Filmed in the spring of 1998, COLD HEARTS is the story of a New Jersey town that harbors a dark secret. Vampire Viktoria (Marisa Ryan) grows weary of her life in the local blood- sucker scene just as Seth, a mysterious man in black, arrives in town and turns it upside down. Original pink Power Ranger Amy Jo Johnson stars as Viktoria's best friend; the great Tom Savini serves as visual fx supervisor.
Filmed entirely on and around the Ocean City, NJ boardwalk, COLD HEARTS feels like a nostalgic summer jaunt to the shore, complete with local weirdos and suspicious youth. Much like THE LOST BOYS accurately preserves the atmosphere and angst of late '80s youth culture, COLD HEARTS serves as an enjoyable document of the late '90s, think BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER and Kevin Smith. With enough familiar scenery for lovers of the Jersey Shore and plenty of blood and action for the horrorhounds, COLD HEARTS is a real treat that stands as one of the best locally produced horror films of the 1990s.
