John Elliott in Concert
The Marshall Grange is pleased to be presenting post-punk modern music singer songwriter John Elliott on Saturday March 22 beginning at 7:30 PM.  Andrew Blair will be opening for John.

John is a member of the young breed of musicians who travel the country playing wherever they can get a gig, honing their skills, recording albums and putting hundreds of thousands of miles on their cars.  John's music is post-punk leaning towards emo, with catchy lyrics and interesting riffs.  He is a dynamic guitar player and his acting experience makes him a great performer, connecting with his audience in a very real way.  He has released seven albums, some of which have been featured on the popular TV programs "Grey's Anatomy," "One Tree Hill," and "Californication" and has been written up in PASTE Magazine, featured on NPR and is in the latest Folk Alliance Movie "Folksingers".  His music has a cult-like international following and has been covered by artists worldwide.  His music is anywhere and everywhere if you're in the right place at the right time: on the radio, TV, and internet; in cars and around campfires. John remains an independent, unsigned and unaffiliated artist and he is proud of that fact.  He continues to make a living and build a dedicated following the old fashioned way: one new believer at a time.   You can learn more about John and hear his songs at http://thehereafterishere.com/home.

Andrew Blair will make his first appearance at the Grange opening for the show with his Americana folk sound and soulful howl.  He is a the vocalist and writer for the popular Oakland band We Became Owls whose music has been described as a "classic but entirely fresh Americana sound, the latest offshoot of the folk tradition set forth by Woodie Guthrie and Bob Dylan ages ago".   You can sample his music at http://www.webecameowls.com.

This concert is the perfect way to celebrate the beginning of spring with some music that is seldom performed live on the Divide.  The Marshall Grange is located at 4940 Marshall Road, in Garden Valley.  Driving directions may be found at www.marshallgrange.org.  For further information call 530-642-8671
