LAURA GOLDHAMER www.lauragoldhamer.com
Laura Goldhamer draws from a variety of purely American musical traditions; however, her ability to merge traditional Americana with the avant-garde, mixing inventive homemade technologies with earnest folk, is what has earned her numerous accolades, including Westword magazine's 2010 Mastermind Award, given to her for being a "cultural visionary" in the Denver arts community. Born, raised, and currently residing in Denver, CO, Goldhamer has often toured her multi-faceted performance, projecting intricately composed stop-animation films (which she has created to illustrate her song lyrics). These visuals are synced with spirited live music delivery, as well as with the coming to life of an installation of her self-constructed 8-channel instrument, affectionately named "The Roboctopus", a robotic percussive ensemble made of speakers, drums, and doorbells. As a folk songwriter, guitarist, old-time banjo player, stop-motion animator, & instrument inventor, Goldhamer continues to enliven crowds with laughter and awe, conveying her intimate and focused energy in a unified and immersive musical, visual, kinetic, and often comedic performances.
THE BLACK RESONATORS
THE BLACK RESONATORS are a band that first met in fall 2011 in New Orleans and have since toured several times to Colorado. They play mostly original music written by every member of the four man group. They consist of four diverse characters each with bizarre and unique talents. Nathan Rivera plays accordion and black resonator guitar and sings his funky and suave beautiful latino inspired songs with a lot of lovely vocal arrangements and harmonies. Shine Delphi plays resonator guitar and has a strong gritty voice and explosively joyful personality. His songs are soulful mixture of blues and American country. Karl 'Pickles' Kummerle is a whiz on the violin and a lively fun presence on the dance floor and leads the group through his playful avant guard acrobatic compositions while Jimbino Vegan plays guitaralele and clarinet and clowns around while howling his theatrical songs strongly inspired by Jazz, the French Chanson tradition and primitive rap.
ANNA MORSETT : (THE STILL TIDE) www.thestilltide.com
The Still Tide is the turbulent and tender songwriting of Anna Morsett, the stormy voiced front woman of this fierce Brooklyn based indie-rock quartet. When Anna isn't touring as a bassist with her other musical projects (Ark Life, These United States) or traveling the world as a guitar tech (Kaki King, Becca Stevens) she works intensely on crafting songs that swing from an emotive place of no apology to one of shoegaze and shaking forgiveness.
While Anna often performs solo as The Still Tide, the band's current release "Tinder" is a full tilt band collaboration. In the spring of 2012, after years of touring from coast to coast under the name Yet Cut Breath, the band launched a successful Kickstarter campaign that landed them in studios of Spaceman Sound to record their second album. A perfect follow up to their first release "Hinges" (2011), which they recorded in a small cabin in the woods of upstate New York, "Tinder" is wildly more explosive, bursting with heartfelt lyrics and rich guitar sounds.
