The Lord Dog Bird with Micah Blue Smaldone and Tom K
The Lord Dog Bird is the solo recording project of Colin McCann, guitarist for the Jagjaguwar Records group Wilderness. While the band was on extended hiatus, McCann went on a 4 track odyssey of atmospheres and tape hiss and this project of musical healing and change is the result. Of Portlands own Micah Blue Smaldones latest album, the BBC says that while avoiding crass preaching, Smaldone sings quietly of terrible things. Yet his absence of cynicism suggests these are ultimately songs about, and of, hope. Tom K. is of the band Fire on Fire, a player of Arabic oud and supernal songcrafter.
