THE LIVES OF FAMOUS MEN

The Lives of Famous Men are the authors of music with soul; five friends who tired of music that glorified image above substance, and who had a desire to do something different. Each hailing from a unique musical background, singer Daniel Hall says this was an opportunity for them to strive for something more meaningful. The five, who include frontman Hall, guitarist Ari Katcher, drummer Dylan Mandel, bassist Andrew Totemoff, and keyboardist Jason Wahto, are passionate about what they do, but never take themselves too seriously.

In March of 2007, The Lives of Famous Men went into the studio with producer Stephan Hawkes to record their debut EP Rehearsal. Troy Glessner (Emery, As Tall as Lions) put the finishing touches on the record, delivering a punchy and powerful sound. Director Kurt Nishimura (The Decemberists) shot a video for the leadoff track Youre Everyone I Know Right Now, which recently aired on MTVU when The Lives of Famous Men were selected as the artist of the week by MTVUs Best Music on Campus.

Following the release of Rehearsal, The Lives of Famous Men instantly garnered recognition as the #1 unsigned artist on purevolume.com and as a featured band in Alternative Press Magazines AP&R column (issue #232, Nov. 2007). They also earned a spot on the 6-week Triple Crown Clothing tour with Youinseries and National Product, which took them across the country. A brief run with Shiny Toy Guns capped off their summer touring and fall brought another cross-country outing including a stop in St. Cloud, Florida to record their follow-up EP Modern Love, The Wooden Vehicle with producer James Paul Wisner (Dashboard Confessional, Paramore).

Modern Love, The Wooden Vehicle showcases not only musical growth and a wealth of eclectic sounds ranging from jazz to Motown to flamenco to modern pop, but also James Paul Wisners masterful engineering. In the short time since its release, Modern Love, The Wooden Vehicle has already created a strong buzz among online publications with its debut on smartpunk.com as one of the top 5 best selling albums. With increasing press and strong momentum, the goals of The Lives of Famous Men remain the same: to write the music they love and to reach as many listeners as possible.

Weatherbox:The debut EP from San Diego's Weatherbox is a stunning first step from a band destined for greatness. Gigantic hooks and earth-shattering guitar and drum work burst through a cloud of smoke. The EP serves as a bit of a teaser to the bands debut full length due in 2007 on Doghouse Records.

WEATHERBOX
Weatherbox will unleash their new beast of an album: American Art in May of 2007. 13 songs of swelling love and bear-like strength.

MANSIONS
On record, Mansions is Christopher Browder. Live, Andrew MacGregor plays guitar, Salvatore Cassato plays drums, and Ryan Davis plays bass. The band is based in Louisville, Kentucky or Winston-Salem, North Carolina, depending on who you ask. They like time travel, coffee, punctuality, and whiskey sours, and they think music should be dirty, rough, and sincere, with little to no concern for being cool or polished. A performance shouldn't be judged by the slickness of its transitions or how many times the frontman asked the crowd to scream, but rather by the feeling involved. After releasing a self-titled EP in the summer of 2008, Mansions released seven self-produced EPs in various formats such as cassette, MP3, and Mini-Disc. The contents of that "EP Initiative" have been compiled on a bonus disc included with their full-length debut, "New Best Friends," to be released by Doghouse Records on March 3, 2009.

SNUFFALUFFAGUS
Snuffaluffagus is a musical endeavor created by songwriter Chris Braciszewski, an enthusiast of many musical tastes. Snuffaluffagus was born out of a home studio project and over the last couple of years has progressed into a collective of collaborating musicians that involve the likes of Japandi, Alex Kent , BoomSnake , and Brian Warren. Snuffy's first Gnome Records release of 2008 (Aminals EP) is a prelude to a folk fairy tale and is just one of many concepts that strive to promote childlike imaginative states.
