Yada Yada K: Long-form comedy improv night in Camden
It's the end of March, so it's your chance to see what Everything Theatre called "witty comedy woven out of thin air that seems as effortless as it is hilarious." Yada Yada K!
This month: Boom Chicago!
Michael Orton-Toliver (O-T) has been performing improvisation since the age of 15; he seriously doubts that he's good at anything else. Mike started at Comedy Sportz, but has since played with IO West, Second City Chicago, Ultimate Improv, and with his buddy Jim Woods. Currently, Michael Orton-Toliver is Head Corporate writer and performed for Boom Chicago, an Amsterdam-based, American improvisation ensemble.
The RH Experience Beloved London improv troupe, YouTube sensations and a youthful update of traditional improv.
And: Special Guest Jam Captains Easy Action!
EASY ACTION is a two-man improvised action/comedy blockbuster created in the moment by Brent Skagford and Marc Rowland. They combine impeccable physical work, child-like play and high emotional stakes to create stories to delight any audience.
Brent Skagford & Marc Rowland are improvisers, actors and writers who perform, teach and coach at Montreal Improv. Marc Rowland is a director of both the Montreal Improv Theatre and the Montreal Improv Festival. Brent Skagford is the co-creater and co-star of The Bitter End web series which was hailed as "the funniest Canadian sitcom of the year" by the Montreal Gazette and "comedy series of the year" by EYE weekly. Now entering their 7th year of collaboration, they have performed Easy Action for the past year in Montreal and have travelled to perform the show in Vancouver, Toronto and London, UK.
C3467X "I liked it and not because I had to!" - Alexandra Mendoza (Leo's wife)
And what do people think about YYK?
"This was a fun, relaxed evening filled with laughter, a good pint and talented performers making up theatre on the spot; it's a great, wallet-friendly (just a fiver!) way to spend an evening.
Fears of having to endure painfully awkward [jam] sessions were quickly dispersed by highly talented audience members, a hugely supportive crowd and watchful hosts. My greatest regret is not having had a go myself, which is why I most certainly will be back. " - http://everything-theatre.co.uk/2014/02/yada-yada-k-the-camden-head-review.html
"Yada Yada K is a wonderfully warm, funny night at the Camden Head. They consistently show London's best improv comedy which, on an evening, could be anything from hilarious parlour games to an improvised musical or a made-up fairy tale based on your suggestions. If you're looking for a fun, open interesting, welcoming night out which showcases diverse talent see this - it's is guaranteed to move you AND make you laugh." - Rob Grundel (Excursions)
"You guys were all ace. Really enjoyed it. Looking forward to the next one " - CeCe Flaptastico --
