Join Village Books and The Atlantics for a celebration of the beginning of their 35th year at the Boundary Bay Beer Garden, benefitting the Whatcom Literacy Council. Tickets are $35 and include appetizers, the first beer (or other beverage) and an evening of music by the boogie, pop-rock and blues-playing Atlantics. Tickets are also available at Village Books. Act now, as there are a limited number of spots. Doors open at 6pm, music starts at 7pm. All ages until 10pm, 21 and over after 10pm.
Village Books, and The Atlantics, first known as Eddie and the Atlantics, were both launched in 1980. This will be the second time the two have celebrated their anniversary together, the first time being in 2005 for their 25th anniversary. Come celebrate together with the community!
The Whatcom Literacy Council is dedicated to helping adults in Whatcom County improve their literacy skills or learn to use English as a second language. Through customized, individual tutoring, students learn critical skills needed to become self-sufficient. Each year students achieve goals that improve their parenting skills, employment skills, citizenship and further their education. The Whatcom Literacy Council is a nonprofit organization, funded through its own efforts and with the support of local businesses, organizations and individuals. With the help of hundreds of volunteer tutors, all WLC services for students are provided free of charge.
