Joni Mitchell's BLUE
In an unforgettable evening of music, Merideth Kaye Clark performs the entire Blue album by Joni Mitchell, the groundbreaking apex for the singer-songwriter released in 1971. Sung in the original keys and arrangements, Merideth Kaye Clark shares the full emotion and power of these legendary songs, including Case Of You and River and the title song Blue. Joined by pianist Mont Chris Hubbard.
MERIDETH KAYE CLARK performed Elphaba in the First National Tour of Wicked. She has played definitive leading theatrical roles nationwide, such as Eva PerĂ³n in Evita and Nancy in Oliver!, and has originated roles in two off-Broadway musicals. Clark is a sought-after concert artist described as plain astonishing and a masterful performer with powerhouse pipes. She is a multi-instrumentalist and plays anything with strings, most notably the guitar, dulcimer and viola. Her solo album Young Stellar Object garnered critical praise from New York theater reviewers and the studio recording of her BLUE concert was successfully funded on Kickstarter in only four days.
The evening was simply mesmerizing. This note for note rendering would be remarkable in and of itself but even more noteworthy was the manner in which Merideth captured and owned the emotional depth of the work making for a wholly satisfying, enlightening, and entertaining evening.
