Crowdfunding: Financing Your Film with Akua Boyenne Esq
CROWDFUNDING: FINANCING YOUR FILM With Akua Boyenne Esq
As part of the Los Angeles Women's International Film Festival Symposium Akua Boyenne, Esq will present on financing independent films through crowdfunding.

"Crowdfunding" using the Internet to raise donations from the public  has become an increasingly popular and accessible way to finance a film. The public may donate as little as a few dollars to as much as a few thousand dollars.

Filmmakers can build an effective crowd funding campaign to reach out to a crowd of people for donations, using platforms like Kickstarter.com <http://Kickstarter.com/> or Indiegogo.com <http://Indiegogo.com/>  to solicit donations from the public in exchange for rewards (e.g., memorabilia, DVDs, producer credit, etc.) You will learn about the big changes coming with the JOBS Act which will allow crowdfunding for equity investors!

During this presentation you will learn how to successfully use Fiscal Sponsorships to apply for funding from organizations that require non-profit status. As a fiscal sponsor, Alliance of Women Filmmakers (AWF) can act as a non-profit tax-exempt umbrella organization that accepts and administers contributions made to your project without strings attached.
