"The flesh is real; the movement coursing its way through his body is like blood." - re: Tiffany Mills Co. -The New York Times

Conduit Dance is pleased to host choreographer-performer Tiffany Mills and her company, based in New York City, to show her latest work-in-development, The Feast. Also showing work is choreographer Tere Mathern of Portland. Both artists share their latest renderings in movement, presenting work-in-progress in an informal setting.
Please join Tiffany Mills and Tere Mathern in a shared evening to see new work in progress.

Tiffany Mills shares excerpts from her latest work in development, The Feast. Driven by questions of consumption: When are our lives exposed to the point of feeling devoured? How are our senses nourished or starved? Tiffany Mills Company examines abundance and scarcity in extreme environments  high spaces, tight spaces, and dark spaces  as the audience intimately views the performance. Choreographer Tiffany Mills teams with composer Jonathan Melville Pratt, costumer Mary Kokie-McNaugher, and five dancers (Jeffrey Duval, Kevin Ho, Kyle Marshall, Emily Pope-Blackman, and Mei Yamanaka) for this work-in-process showing filled with raw and visceral movement.

Tere Mathern will share her most recent work also in development with the working title Edge Effects. Joining Mathern are Zahra Banzi-Horn and Kristine Anderson in a series of short excerpts which examines life found at the margins, on the edges of systems and environments, and the intermingling, verdant nature of places and processes in transition, of diversity and liminality. This is the beginning of a work to be presented in May at a benefit for Conduit Dance.

While at Conduit, Tiffany will also teach a workshop focusing on her process of dance making, Capturing Spontaneity. Saturday, March 29, 4:30-6:30 pm - $30. Info at www.conduit-pdx.org/upcoming
