"Suddenly Last Summer" presented by Riot King
Riot King is back with another exciting, site-specific production!
Dont miss the limited run of Suddenly Last Summer by Tennessee Williams presented at Sorry Studios. Named one of Williams most poetic plays, Suddenly Last Summer is a strange and unnerving Southern Gothic play that explores mental health, repressed desires, and the lengths a dysfunctional family will go to keep dark secrets hidden. Williams play uncovers the frightening and disturbing realities that can hide behind what is seemingly beautiful.
Under the direction of Kathleen Welch, Suddenly Last Summer features an incredible ensemble cast featuring Lindsey Middleton, Elaine Lindo, Ryan Iwanicki, Carling Tedesco, Brendan Kinnon, Jobina Sitoh, and Shadan Rahbari.
Join us on August 9th for our Opening Night Carnivorous Garden Party where well be selling bouquets and floral arrangements by independent floral designer Audrey Clairman, drinks from local breweries, and visual art from local artisans like Ellyn OKeefe, Claire Browne, and Cat Stambolic.
Can't make it to opening night? Our visual artist market will be presented throughout the entire run, so come in early, grab a drink and check out their displays! Doors to the studio will open one hour before each performance and the studio will remain open afterwards for mingling, drinks, and space for community.
You won't want to miss how we transform the beautiful Sorry Studios (61 Elm Grove Avenue) into an overgrown, carnivorous, New Orleans garden patio to share this intense, thrilling drama.!

Accessibility
The studio is located on the first floor of a building on Elm Grove Avenue. There is a washroom that is large enough for mobility devices, but is not listed as an accessible washroom. There is a single step up to the front door of the studio, but we will be providing a ramp for patrons who use a mobility device. The inside of the studio is even flooring and we are willing to make necessary accommodations to fit in mobility devices into the audience. If you require assistance or if you use a mobility device, please email us in advance as we will organize the seating arrangement to accommodate your device.
We are hosting a Relaxed Performance of the production on August 12th at 2:30PM. At this performance, we will have limited tech - lowered volume on sound cues and no flashing/bright lights. We will also be slowing down fight choreography and allowing the audience to leave and re-enter the space as they need. Please let us know if there are any other accommodations we can make for this performance.
Warnings: This show deals with themes of mental health, sexual abuse, violence, and racism. We recommend the show to audience members 16+.
