Magic in 5 Acts: Where Music, Storytelling and Poetry Meet Out by Ten on March 27th -- is presenting a night of inspiration (not to
mention free wine and snacks) with 5 sets of mind-blowing performers.
The Talent:
#1 We Part The Trees. Composer Debra Kaye and poet Roger Aplon present an improvised, lyrical duet in which Debra's incredible range from classical to jazz to modern music sounds like pure poetry and Roger's lyrical images sound more like music.
#2 Space, Time and My Ex-Husband. Seasoned poet-performer, Felicia Telsey (married her dogwalker-- she did what?!?) has been through it all and can still laugh about it you will, too.
#3 How Not To Do Yoga and Other Life Lessons. Nhu An Do, Moth story- slam winner, recovering financial analyst and all-around amazing storyteller, will shine light where no man has gone before -- or at least not in the way she tells it.
#4 Two Guys Walk into an Italian Restaurant... Poet Mike Jurkovic & pianist Hayden Wayne, who used to tour with the likes of Billy Joel, Sly Stone, Gordon Lightfoot, Richie Havens and Gladys Knight, will combine forces in an improv sprinkled with pathos and politics.
#5 Love in 4 Dimensions. Pianist Lester St. Louis (soon to depart on a European tour) and French-born vocalist Emily Lesbros work at the edge of jazz, improvised and classical music using lush lyricism to extend their ground-breaking techniques. Translation: They're great and you'll love 'em.

7:30 PM on the last Thursday of the month.
