FORTITUDE and GENTLENESS
FORTITUDE and GENTLENESS by Billy Siegenfeld A play about a rehearsal for a play with snatches of song, some bursts of dance, crazed rants about life, and 2 or 3 appeals to the moon and Jane Austen who, GENIUS that she was, combined those two words fortitude and gentleness (are you ready?) MORE THAN 200 YEARS AGO because she believed that said combo is a BOTH-AND way of doing life not an EITHER-OR way of doing it, even though one character in the play STILL thinks, stuck-in-the-mud Eeyore he is, that either/or is the ONLY way to do anything, to which the other character in the play can only roll her eyes for the umpteenth time and say: "Yeesh."
