Harlequin is one of a group of children, playing games and getting ready for a spring costume party. When the poor Harlequin can't afford a costume, the others give him pieces of their own outfits and his mother sews them together to make a beautiful costume. Good friends, kaleidoscopic dancing, and a loving mother make this a truly magical festival.
In Arts Encounter, your young dancers will explore a different story ballet each week culminating in a Thursday family performance.
The children will use improvisation, basic movement concepts, folk dance, and classical ballet to recreate the story ballets. Your children will design and construct costumes, props, and scenery to enhance their production.
At snack time, we'll explore a different culture and era while trying foods from around the world.
Your young dancers will meet for 2 classes daily (dance and art), for 4 consecutive days, to explore, through dance, art, music, and foods from around the world - a different theme each week.
Sign up for 1 week, or all 4.
