Summer is the official season of lolling around in pools, drinking crisp bottles of cider and daydreaming about the day Ellen Page finally agrees to be your best friend. Or lover. Or maybe both. A Lover-Friend, the kind who has amazing hair and who might one day introduce you to Tegan and Sara.
But summer is also the season of sadness, desperation and loneliness, and not just because you realise that Ellen Page will never love you because an irresistible musk-ox like she could, out of fairness, never commit to just one person. No, summer is also drenched with misery because with it comes the end of the roller derby season.
Vale roller derby. Despite the multiple weekly training sessions, the bruises, the scrapes and the occasional breaks, it seems like we hardly knew ye.
Luckily, there is ONE GOLDEN AND GRAND MOMENT LEFT in VRDL's roller derby calendar! And it is so grand that we've gone to the liberty of calling it the GRAND FINAL! Yes! AND IT'S HERE!
NOVEMBER 23RD is your FINAL CHANCE to catch VRDL's home teams as they duke it out for title of SOLE SURVIVOR! It's been a rip roaring year but there can only be one winner to take it on home (take it on home).
Will it be THREE TIME CHAMPIONS, those amazin', blazin' DOLLS OF HAZZARD? Or the radioactively dangerous challengers, the TOXIC AVENGERS?! We're all so excited we can barely breathe! Which is probably a good thing around all that chemical waste and car fumes.
Battling it out for THIRD and FOURTH will be those peachy, beachy shellfish of the sea, the ROCK MOBSTERS taking on our favourite dead mistresses, the DEAD RINGER ROSIES!
If you've always said to yourself, 'Self - I think it's time I went along to watch LITERALLY THE BEST GAME EVERY PLAYED', then this is your chance!
Ellen Page would want it that way.
Please be aware, there are no ATMs on site. The VRDL merch stand will have eftpos for merch purchases, but if you are buying tickets or drinks on the day please make sure you have cash!

Yarra Trams line #86 (Docklands to Bundoora), Stop 57 (RDSC, Gremel Rd) will bring you right to our front door! If you have to drive, there is free parking at the venue.
HOW DO YOU GET TICKETS?
Online ticket sales open Monday 13th October and close at 11:30am on bout day.
Make sure you buy your tickets online, as you'll have to pay more on the door.
All Companion Card holder entry is complimentary when accompanying a client. Please be sure to present your official Companion Card on the door.
